Holidaymakers welcomed at the MIMIZAN Intercommunal Tourist Office. One of the very first seaside resorts on the Landais coast, between the forest and the ocean, warmly invites you to enjoy a fun-packed day discovering our natural heritage in the company of our qualified guides.
9.30 a.m. :
Guided tour of the farmhouse zoo at ST PAUL EN BORN. You’ll be immersed in the wonders of the natural world in this flower-filled, leafy park covering 4 Ha, home to many animals: horses, donkeys, ornamental chickens, sheep… Not to be missed: the wild pond with its numerous species of duck, deer hiding in the undergrowth, brooder house… Sampling of local produce.
12.00 p.m. :
Because gastronomy is synonymous with enjoyment, a selection of restaurant owners invite you to sample their specialities.
2.30 p.m. :
Guided tour of the Airial Museum at BIAS. Thanks to its diverse origins and properties, wood is one material that offers man numerous possibilities in the fields of art and industry. A slide-show presentation explores its uses in our daily lives. You will also find an exhibition displaying over a 100 species of trees from all four corners of the globe.
Our guide will take you on a discovery tour of timber in all its forms, enabling you to smell, touch, listen, assemble and build with this remarkable material.
3.30 p.m. :
Trip to the ‘Promenade fleurie’ by the shores of Lake MIMIZAN. This jewel in the Landais countryside offers more than 600 plant species and contributes to the 4-flower Villages Fleuris classification earned by our commune. Commentary provided by the Town Hall official in charge of Green Spaces.
4.30 p.m. :
Your day trip will be rounded off by a trip to the Ailes monument in MIMIZAN with stunning views of the ocean.
